What is Hydro Power?
Hydroelectric power plants (HEPP) convert power of flowing water into electricity. The flow or fall rate of the water determines the amount of energy in the flowing water. Water flowing in a large river carries a large amount of energy. Or when the water is dropped from a very high point, a high amount of energy becomes available. Water taken into the canals or pipes flows to the turbines, and enables the turbines with rotating wings electricity production. Turbines are connected to generators and they convert mechanical energy into electrical energy.
